Our Story
2020 - Inception
Initial discussions among biomedical engineering associations across Africa.
2022 - Planning
Formal planning and constitution drafting began with representatives from 15 African countries.
2024 - Launch
Official launch of ABEA with founding members from across Africa.
Building a United Front
The Africa Biomedical Engineering Alliance (ABEA) was born out of the recognition that biomedical engineering professionals across Africa face similar challenges and opportunities. By creating a unified platform, we aim to amplify our collective voice and accelerate progress.
Our journey began with discussions among leading biomedical engineering associations, culminating in the formal establishment of ABEA in 2024. Today, we represent professionals from across the continent, working together to shape the future of healthcare in Africa.
